The Noosa Triathlon is an Olympic distance event based on the Sunshine Coast which takes the participants around the town centre, beach and hinterlands. Described by the event organisers as the “full Noosa experience” and ranked as one of the worlds top 10 triathlons, it is both a sports and community event which helps Noosa together for the week-long event. This article will help you understand everything you need to know about participating in the Noosa Triathon.

What is the Triathlon?

The Noosa Triathlon is one of the worlds top triathlons, being run using the main beach and through the middle of Noosa. Starting back in 1983, the Noosa triathlon is now a five day festival which combines 11 events for individuals, different ages and groups with a full post-race experience with celebrations. With over 13,000 competitors across all of the races and 30,000 spectators the area explodes with life brought from the Noosa triathlon.

The Noosa Triathlon is estimated to bring in over $16million in economic benefits to the local area and is supported strongly by the State and local government as a major benefit to the region’s economic growth.

When and Where is the Noosa Triathlon?

The Noosa Triathlon will be held on the 28th of October until the 1st of November as a five day action packaged festival. Starting next to the Noosa boardwalk, the swim course follows the adjacent area, then transitioning to the riding and run course at the Lions park. Both the riding and run course loop back with the race finish line at the Lions park.
